East Texas high school football continued Friday, Oct. 2, with Lindale remaining unbeaten in UIL Class 4A Division I, District 8 after a homecoming victory over Bullard. Longview Pine Tree earned a road win at Palestine, while Kilgore and Henderson also picked up district victories.
In UIL Class 3A Division I, District 7, Mount Vernon defeated Mineola 71–7, Malakoff beat Rains 57–2, and Commerce shut out Eustace 65–0.

The Lindale Eagles improved to 6–0 overall and 3–0 in district play with a 55–28 homecoming win over Bullard at Eagle Stadium.
