Carolyn Bayer Shadwell

Carolyn Bayer Shadwell, a short-term resident of Lindale before moving to Greenville, TX, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born September 20, 1938, in Endicott, NY, to the late Bruce Martin and Nancy (Pope) Bayer, and grew up in Nashville, TN.

Carolyn enjoyed sewing/crafts, reading, swimming, camping and RVing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Wray Shadwell II. She is survived by her brother, William T. Bayer; her daughter, Susan and Robert Tidwell; her daughter, Kathryn Aragon; her son, Philip and Kathy Shadwell; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial service is scheduled for 11a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Mineola First Assembly, 1917 US-69, with Pastor Jerry Williams officiating. Donations can be made to the church, American Heart Association (heart.org), or American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
