Millions of voters made their voices heard on Election Day, Nov. 5. Donald J. Trump claimed the Presidency with 71,682,257 votes (50.9%), winning an unofficial total of 277 electoral votes. Kamala D. Harris secured 66,788,784 votes (47.4%), gaining 223 electoral votes.
The November ballot also allowed people in thousands of communities across the county to vote for state and county representatives as well as local propositions.
Smith County reported 162,646 registered voters cast 104,180 ballots, representing a voter turnout of 64.05 percent.
As of 2:45 a.m., the unofficial votes cast in Smith County for the Presidential Election were as follows:
REP Donald J. Trump/JD Vance—74,657 votes, 71.91%
DEM Kamala D. Harris/Tim Walz—27,890 votes, 26.86%.
LIB Chase Oliver/Mike ter Maat—558 votes, 0.54%
GRN Jill Stein/Rudolph Ware—349 votes, 0.34%
Write-In Totals—371 votes, 0.36%.
Residents of Smith County Precincts 5, 15, 19, 49, 62, and 85, which include Lindale and Hideaway voted for County Commissioner, Precinct No. 3, County Court at Law No. 2, Sheriff, County Tax Assessor-Collector and Constable, Precinct No. 5.

Scott Herod (REP)—19,006 votes, 77.91%
Edith Mayfield Wilson (DEM)—5,389 votes, 22.09%
Sara Maynard (REP) ran for County Court at Law No. 2 unopposed.
Larry R. Smith (REP) ran for Sheriff unopposed.
Gary B Barber ran for (REP) County Tax Assessor-Collector unopposed.
Wesley Hicks ran for Constable, Precinct No. 5 unopposed.
All results are unofficial until canvassed.
