KTyB receives award
October 01, 2025
Tyler—Keep Tyler Beautiful (KTyB) board members and staff presented their Gold Star Affiliate and Sustained Excellence awards to the city council at the council meeting on Sept. 24. They highlighted many of the programs and projects implemented over the last year. The Gold Star Affiliate award, given by Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB), has recognized Tyler for the past 19 consecutive years.
KTyB has reached Gold Star affiliate status because of its continuous efforts in beautification, litter reduction, positive partnerships, and educating the community through outreach, programming, and events.
"The visibility of KTyB serves as an example to the citizens of Tyler, inspiring them to maintain a community that we can all be proud of," Mayor Don Warren said. "By working with residents and business owners, the board strives to create a beautiful and clean city, fostering growth and development for Tyler’s future."
In 2024, KTB affiliates engaged nearly 30,000 volunteers who contributed to collecting roughly 1 million pounds of waste and recyclables from Texas roadways, trails, and waterways.
