Lindale Police Weekly Brief – Week Ending 7/11/2025
POSS DRUG PARA-Officers in a store were approached by an employee advising there was an individual in a vehicle that appeared to be passed out. Officers made contact and when they opened the door, a strong odor of Marijuana emitted from vehicle. A PC search yielded .3 oz of marijuana.
DAMAGED PROP-RP advised a vehicle took out a portion of their fence, leaving car parts behind. RP advised the cameras showed a passenger car stop, an individual get out, assess the damage, then get back in the car and leave.
DISTURBANCE-RP, who was a passerby, saw a car stop and an individual punching another. Then the car left the scene in an unknown direction of travel.
POSS CS PG1/1b >1g, THEFT PROP>$100 W/PREV CONV-RP advised that they have an individual in the AP office who shoplifted $20 worth of merch. RP has seen the suspect shoplifting before and wants charges filed. While searching the purse for more stolen property, a glass pipe with crystal-like substance inside was found. The individual was arrested for theft and the PCS.
DWI-DWI in the early morning after a vehicle was driving on the wrong side of road. After SFST’s, the individual was arrested. Breath sample results were .17.
Welfare Concern-Police received a request to assist EMS with a patient having a seizure. The individual was heavily intoxicated and refused treatment even though their blood pressure was dangerously high. They were given an option to let the hospital treat or be POW’d. They allowed hospital to treat.
Warrant Service-Van PD issued a warrant. The subject was located, taken into custody and released to Van PD on their warrant.
Inquest-Attempts were made to save life but failed. JP 5 called.
AOA-County requested assistance with possible barricaded subj. Subject had assaulted members in the house and would not come out. Subj was eventually taken into custody and arrested for Assault FV.
Burg in Progress-County req assistance with subj waving a gun at resident and trying to enter the house over a dispute with one of the residents.
Dist-A customer was upset and felt the clerk was rude and disrespectful when asked for ID to buy cigarettes. Officers told them to complain to the company if they were upset and not argue on site.
AOA-A juvenile was not found in the bed in the morning. The sibling stated the child left in the middle of the night. The juvenile was eventually located by an LPD Officer.
*Update for previous Assist Other Agency* On Tuesday, July 2, 2025, a package containing over 40 pounds of illegal marijuana was seized by the Lindale Police Department. Investigators with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office along with Tyler DPS Criminal Investigations were able to establish probable cause for a search warrant for the address.
