ACCIDENT, IH 20 WB ENTRANCE RAMP-Overturned 18-wheeler blocked both WB lanes of traffic. Traffic diverted, made for an interesting school traffic morning. 

HARASSMENT, BROADSTREET BANK-RP called and advised that she is being harassed by an individual, stating that she went on a date with him and decided she did not like him. He has since been repeatedly calling and texting her and now he is calling her work. RP has told him to stop contacting her but every time he contacts her, she engages with him. RP was told not to have contact with him at all and that if by 10/05/24, he is still contacting her, a report would be filed. 

INQUEST-Received a call from Apt manager stating that the pest control guy found an individual deceased in his apt. Officers arrived to find the deceased and had been there for several days. CID and JP 5 were notified, and the report was generated. Body removed by Serenity Mortuary, formerly Lighthouse. 

CRIMINAL TRESPASS, SCOOTERS-RP called advising that employees have been having issues with 2 individuals and is requesting a CTW issued to both. Officers contacted, both were issued CTW’s

ACCIDENT, IH 20 WB MM 552-18-Wheeler and passenger car got tangled up in the middle of the road. Roadway was blocked and traffic diverted. 

THEFT/FRAUD-RP called stating his wife got scammed out of almost $11,000 for a fake SCSO Warrant. Officer took report from the individual who received a call stating she had a warrant for her arrest and to avoid being arrested, she had to pay a $10,900 fine. She paid the money without verifying the warrant status. Report forwarded to CID. No susp info.

POSS DRUG PARA, BURGER KING-RP is manager of Burger King, calling to advise that a 4dr PC occupied by 2 adults and appears 3 children is in the back parking lot smoking Marijuana. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the individuals all from Louisiana, who admitted smoking Marijuana. PC search revealed a small usable amount of weed. All subjs issued citations.

POSS MARIJUANA DFZ, LINDALE JR HIGH-Officers checked a Suspicious Vehicle at the Jr High. Contact was made with two individuals. The odor of marijuana was present, so PC search conducted. 1 oz of marijuana was located along with several items of para. Vehicle towed and one was arrested and one was released.

MENTAL HEALTH POW-Individual was contacted by the old laundry mat. stated he was having suicidal thoughts. Voluntarily went with EMS to hospital.

SCOOTERS COFFEE – BURGLARY OF BUILDING-Alarm company called owner to report alarm. It turned out to be an individual that was breaking into the building. Money taken out of the tills. CID investigated.
