Weekly Police Brief ending 9/20/2024

ASSIST DPS-DPS in Pursuit of a Stolen Box Truck from the Dallas area, headed southbound into Lindale on Hwy 69. The vehicle spun a U-turn and turned west on Toll 49. Lindale Officers set spikes up at Toll 49 and FM 16 with a successful spike. 

ACCIDENT-Major accident involving 2 commercial vehicles, 1 being a Diesel Tanker, and a passenger truck. Tanker flipped over puncturing the tank and spilling approx. 5000 gallons of diesel into the road and storm drains. The entire road was blocked from 0600 until around 1200. Lonestar hazmat and Crow Towing in charge of clean up.  

ASSIST TYLER PD/HOLD UP ALARM-Tyler PD called requesting officer check the Credit Union due to a Hold up alarm and their units coming from a distance away. Officers arrived and found everything is 10-4, clerk knocked keypad off the desk.  

WELFARE CHECK/MENTAL HEALTH-RP advising that she believes the neighbors doused the inside of her apartment in gasoline in an attempt to kill her. Officer arrived and found apartment in complete disarray with urine all over the place. RP is an amputee and her home health nurse lives in the complex and advised that she has been acting very strange the last few days. EMS arrived and RP Voluntarily went with them for a Mental Eval. 

CRIMINAL TRESPASS-RP is management at QT, advising that an individual last seen wearing a Khaki Hat and a camo shirt, has been coming into the store, possibly stealing stuff then leaving again. RP advised that she believes the individual is staying at the Hampton Inn. Officers caught up with the individual in the Raceway Parking lot. QT advised that she had not stolen anything, but they do want her warned away from the property, issued a CTW and left the scene. 

ACCIDENT-Rollover accident between two vehicles. Injured female transported by EMS to Lindale ER, vehicle flipped in the center turn lane. Accident report taken. 

THEFT-RP is advising that he has an individual in his office that was caught switching price tags. Officers contacted individual who switched tags on several items totaling $53.29. No Criminal History. issued a Citation for Class C theft and issued a CTW. 

A CIP HAS BEEN PLACED ON THE STADIUM DUE TO THE RIVALY GAME BETWEEN LINDALE AND VAN.  

WM – PCS-WM called reporting an individual acting strangely in the automotive parking lot. Contacted individual who appeared under the influence. Meth was found in the car he was in, and subject was arrested for PCS. 

Stolen vehicle/ AOA-FLOCK hit on a solen motorcycle. Units turned on vehicle, but officers lost sight - DPS located vehicle at Motel 6 and requested assistance. Two individuals were contacted, and meth was found along with warrants. Subjects arrested, maintained scene security for DPS. 

Mental Health-contacted the individual who stated that five male subjects were in his home and were causing problems. Subj is suffering from dementia. Would not see ambulance. Was not a danger to himself. 

WM – CT-Officers contacted an individual who was miss-scanning items. WM wanted him to be warned from property, issued CT. 

WM – Theft-WM called about an incident that occurred on the 8th with two individuals who stole approximately $300 worth of merch. Subjs unknown. Report taken and will be given to CID. 

Susp Pers - Brookshires/ Whataburger-Caller stated an individual wearing a black vest, dark jeans and a camo hat with a badge on his belt approached him asking for something while identifying himself as a police officer. Officers searched the area but failed to contact this person. 

DWI-Caller stated they believed a truck hit the Lindale Dental office and thought the person either was intoxicated or overdosing. Officers contacted the individual who was passed out in the front seat with it in gear and subj stated he had taken methadone that day. The subject was noticeably impaired. Subj arrested for DWI 3rd. 

Disturbance-RP stating soon to be ex came over to the apt and was yelling and making threats before leaving. issued CTs to both parties at request. No report of an assault so no report made. 

I20 – Arrest-Subj stopped on traffic. Had a suspended license and was arrested due to multiple convictions.
