Kids Scoop increases interest in writing

Staff Report

The Lindale News wants to establish a partnership with Kids Scoop to help increase children’s interest in reading and writing.

Kids Scoop is a weekly children’s paper that will be printed and handed out with the weekly newspaper to encourage children to read alongside their parents. This paper includes stories, coloring, and an activities page to get kids thinking. Kids Scoop has shown to increase literacy rates in children over prolonged periods of time.

Kids Scoop gives children weekly activities and topics they can write about. In addition to helping the children, it also offers benefits to parents and guardians as well. Since the Kids Scoop will be included in the paper every week without an additional charge, parents don’t have to spend extra money to access it.

The cost of Kids Scoop can be fundraised by members of the community. Fundraising these costs will mean that the charges don’t fall on the parents who may not have extra money to spend. By helping fund Kids Scoop, you help community with a tax deductible donation(s).

Donations can be given in the form of a check or online payment. You can either choose to submit a one-time payment or a reoccurring payment. The cost weekly to get Kids Scoop in the paper would be $200. This pays for the cost of the Kids Scoop themselves, printing costs, and distribution costs. If sending a check, fill out the subject line to say ‘Kids Scoop,’ so that it will be appropriated to the right fund.
